The "Wide Area Special Investigation Unit" was newly established within the Metropolitan Police Department due to the increasing scope of crime. This work depicts the group of investigation experts who pursue all kinds of cases beyond the boundaries of local police stations, led by the passionate detective Hyogo Takami. It began broadcasting on the TV Asahi network in October 1996. Starring Kyoya Shibata, along with a cast of unique actors such as Toru Kazama, Sei Hiraizumi, Kirin Kiki, and Jun Fubuki, it gained popularity as a human & action detective drama filled with human warmth, and became a long-running hit program, with a total of 8 series produced.
